Date Nut Bread
Who knew cornbread could be dessert? This recipe uses brown sugar and dates for a dessert bread that’s not too sweet.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9 1/4 x 5 1/4 x 2 3/4-inch bread pan. In a medium bowl, whisk together the House-Autry Buttermilk Cornbread Mix and brown sugar. Make a well in the center and add the eggs, milk and vegetable oil; mix thoroughly. Stir in the dates and pecans. Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
