For a twist on the Italian classic, try venison with pasta sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- 1 cup House-Autry Pork Seasoned Breading Mix
- 2 lbs boneless venison steaks
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, grate
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups pasta sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
Preheat oven to 350°F. Pound steaks to 1/4-inch thickness; cut into serving-sized pieces. In a shallow bowl, beat together egg and milk. In a separate bowl, combine House-Autry Pork Seasoned Breading Mix and parmesan cheese. Dip venison in egg mixture, then coat with breading mixture. Discard remaining breading mix. Heat oil over medium high heat in a large skillet; brown meat on both sides. Place in a greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Combine pasta sauce and water; pour over venison. Cover and bake for 50 minutes or until meat is tender. Uncover; sprinkle with cheese. Bake 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Serve with pasta.
