Spivey's Corner Baked Bean Casserole

Depending on the type of sausage you use (I like turkey), it may be necessary to add a little oil to the sausage and vegetable mixture while cooking to prevent sticking.

Southern Baked for Pork
Ingredients
28 ounce can pork n' beans
1/2 pound ground sausage (optional)
1/2 pound dark brown sugar
1/4 cup prepared mustard
3/4 cup ketchup
1 small onion - chopped
1/2 medium green bell pepper - chopped
1/4 cup oil - as needed
Directions: 

Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine pork 'n beans, brown sugar, mustard and ketchup in a casserole dish; stir well and set aside. In a medium skillet, combine pork, onion and bell pepper. Cook over medium-high heat until pork is done and vegetables are tender (about 15 minutes). Once cooked, add to pork 'n bean mixture, stirring well to ensure even distribution. Do not drain. Sprinkle House-Autry Southern Baked Pork Coating Mix evenly over top of casserole. Place on center rack in oven and bake for 30 minutes.
