A Southern classic, this fried okra is made even better with the addition of our seafood seasoned breading mix.
- 1 cup House-Autry Seafood Seasoned Breading Mix
- 1 pound fresh medium-sized okra
- oil for frying
Wash okra and cut into 1/2-inch size pieces. Put House-Autry Seafood Seasoned Breading Mix and cut okra into a gallon-sized resealable plastic bag and shake to coat. Fill pan with vegetable oil, enough to fill bottom of pan 1/2 to 3/4-inch deep. Heat oil in frying pan until hot, but not boiling. Gently place coated okra into the hot oil with a slotted spoon. Lower heat to medium high. Cook until okra is lightly browned. Remove using slotted spoon, and place on paper towels. Salt to taste. Serve at once.
