Just as delicious as those in your local bakery, these scones have excellent flavor and texture, and they pair perfectly with coffee.
- 2 cups House-Autry Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tbsp butter or margarine - melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 6 tsp milk
Preheat oven to 450°F. Mix House-Autry Buttermilk Biscuit Mix and water in a bowl, mix until combined. Roll the dough into a 12-inch x 8-inch rectangle, approximately 1/2-inch in height. Brush with melted butter. Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a cup. Sprinkle about 2/3 of the mixture evenly over the butter. Cut into small triangles. Place on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until done. Combine the icing ingredients (confectioners sugar, vanilla and milk) and drizzle over scones. Makes 15 scones.
