Chicken ‘n Dumplings

Our buttermilk biscuit mix makes it simpler than ever to make this classic Southern dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 package House-Autry Buttermilk Biscuit Mix 8 oz
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 quart chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 3 cups cooked chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions

In a large skillet or Dutch oven coated with nonstick cooking spray, saute vegetables for 5 minutes. Stir in the chicken broth, poultry seasoning and pepper; bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Add chicken. Combine biscuit mix and milk. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto simmering broth. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a dumpling comes out clean.
