Breakfast Pastries

You may use seedless grapes, berries, apples, peaches, or pears for this recipe. For best results, use the same type of preserves as fruit.

Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups milk
4 ounces (1/2 pkg) cream cheese, softened
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup fresh fruit, roughly chopped
1/2 cup fruit preserves
Glaze:
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp milk or cream
1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a large baking sheet; set aside. In a large bowl, combine biscuit mix and milk; stir to form a soft dough. Place dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a rectangle approximately 15 inches in length and 1/4-inch thick. Place on prepared pan.

Beat together the cream cheese, sugar and egg; pour down the center of dough, spreading towards the sides, but leaving a 2-inch border. Combine fruit and fruit preserves; spread evenly over cream cheese mixture. Fold border towards center until it touches the fruit. Place in oven and bake until golden brown, 25-30 minutes. Cool slightly before drizzling with glaze. Cut into 1-inch slices.

For glaze: Combine ingredients together in a small bowl until well blended. Drizzle over pastry.
