Bacon Cheddar Jalapeño Grit Melt

Our traditional stone ground grits are taken to a whole new level with the addition of bacon, cheese and spicy jalapeños.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup House-Autry Stone Ground Yellow Grits
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of real bacon bits
  • 1/4 cup jalapeño, small diced
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large sauce pan cook House-Autry Stone Ground Yellow Grits, milk and water on high, covered, until mixture starts to boil. Reduce to low and cook for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup cheese, bacon, jalapeno, salt and pepper. Mix all together and continue cooking until grits are tender and liquid is absorbed. Once grits are done, pour grits into a small casserole dish. Top with remaining 1 cup of cheese and bake for 5-7 minutes or until cheese is melted.
