House-Autry is Proud to be a Charity Partner of Military Missions in Action.

Military Missions in Action (MMIA) is a nonprofit organization with a commitment to assisting disabled veterans as well as supporting active servicemen and women. MMIA is proud of our servicemen and women, past and present, and their service to our country. The organization dedicates itself to helping those who have selflessly given for our freedom.

Executive Director Michael Dorman, a retiree of the United States Coast Guard, created MMIA with the aim of assisting veterans with disabilities, both physical and mental, to achieve independent living. All veterans who have served are eligible to receive services including home modification, rehabilitation and family assistance. Since 2008, the organization has completed more than 100 home modification projects and shipped thousands of care packages to soldiers.

In February 2013, President Obama honored Michael Dorman as a recipient of the 2012 Presidential Citizens Medal, the nation’s second-highest civilian honor.
